Educator, artist, and modern-day woman of the Renaissance Whitney Sherrill, M.A. was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia during her adolescent years.
After successfully completing a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies (Concentration in Social-Behavioral Sciences) with a Minor in Spanish, she went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Pan-African Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education with a specialization in English as a Second Language (ESL).
She has taught courses for several years at noteworthy institutions such as Spelman College, Morehouse College, Miami Dade College, and Georgia Tech University.
After several years of producing academic journal publications, she went on to author and publish her first literary publication, “Whispers of Romance: The Early Works,” in 2009. In 2013, she produced the highly anticipated poetic-novel “Didactic Dopamine: The Collection,” followed by her first children’s book in 2016 and a book of positive affirmations in 2017.
Followers of her work appreciate the passion, honesty, social consciousness, and empowerment in her writing and the heartfelt conviction that she displays in all that she does.
Her life has been a process of acquiring the knowledge, insight, and experience to produce substantial, thought-provoking, and transformative work in an effort to touch and heal the hearts of nations.
In 2014, she was afforded the highly distinguished honor of being elected “VIP Woman of the Year” by the National Association of Professional Women for her professional excellence and commitment of service to the community at large. She was also selected as one of the 100 women to be featured in the 2014 edition of the nationally distributed and highly esteemed “Women of Distinction Magazine.”
Whitney Sherrill speaks five languages and is an avid advocate for literacy, and she actively engages in the effort toward increasing literacy through various personal and professional efforts.
Her passion for education, the arts, and the youth traverse every area of her life, and each one significantly impacts her artistic and professional endeavors.
